This page explains what information MinesweeperMMO ("we", "the game") collects when you play,
and how it's used. We keep this to the minimum needed to run a shared multiplayer game.
Information you provide
- Username: public, shown to other players and on your profile page.
- Password: either auto-generated at signup or one you set yourself; stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text.
- Email address (optional): only used to recover your password and to notify you if your password is changed. It is never shown to other players or used for marketing.
- Color choice: public, used to identify your cursor and flags on the board.
Information collected automatically
- IP address and user agent: logged against your account for basic abuse/ban enforcement, and visible to admins in the admin panel.
- Gameplay activity: score, cells cleared, mines hit, flags placed, and similar stats needed to run the game and leaderboards.
- Cursor position: broadcast live to other players in the same game so you can see each other move; not retained beyond your current session.
Cookies & local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in while you play. Your username, color, and
password are also cached in your browser's local storage so you can be automatically
signed back in. This data stays on your device and isn't sent anywhere except back to us
when you play.
Third parties
- Cloudflare Turnstile: verifies you're not a bot when creating an account. Cloudflare processes your IP address for this purpose; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Mailgun: delivers password-related emails on our behalf, if you provided an email address.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use third-party advertising or tracking.
Your choices
You can change your password or color at any time from your profile menu. To request
deletion of your account and its data, reach out via our
Telegram group.
Children's privacy
MinesweeperMMO is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect
information from them.
